About Us

Opened October 2014, Bombini is in the beautiful beachside paradise of Avoca, NSW, surrounded by rolling greenery, vegetable gardens and fruit trees. Bombini, derived from the tribal name “bumblebee”, represents the restaurant philosophy and idealistic values that we strive to deliver with our food and wine. With declining bee populations worldwide, primarily due to GM foods, our aim is to source old-strain varieties which are non-GM foods – better for us and better for our land. We select the finest produce from Australia and Italy and present it simply and elegantly, with respect for sustainability and organic practices. All the produce used in our kitchen has been sourced for its inherent value – from the basics of the best salt and flour, to regional cheeses, pasta made from ancient wheat varieties, spices, grass-fed meats and game, and sustainable Australian seafood. The vegetable garden at Bombini is an ongoing project with the aim of producing an abundant supply of fruit and vegetables. We grow seasonally, with the best varieties for our climate, including some rare varieties you may not have tried. We are committed to running our restaurant in as sustainable a manner as possible, minimising waste and returning what we can to our soil.
